Today is Transgender Day of Visibility.

To celebrate, we’re revisiting some of the interviews we’ve conducted over the years with members of the transgender community and their allies.

Our archive features conversations that highlight significant milestones in transgender visibility across the country, including talking with the organisers of Australia’s first transgender music festival, which created a safe space for artists to express themselves authentically while building community connections through shared artistic experiences.

We’ve also documented the evolving landscape of transgender healthcare in Australia, speaking with medical professionals and patients about improvements in access to gender-affirming care, while acknowledging the work still needed to ensure equitable treatment nationwide.
