Get to Know T.Y

After a brief hiatus, T.Y is back with their comeback single ‘Fight’, that was released in August of this year. ‘Fight’ is about a journey of a relationship ending, finding strength is letting go and becoming yourself again, after giving so much to someone else.  

“Fight is all about empowerment… that losing someone does not mean losing yourself”– T.Y  

Naarm/Melbourne based duo, T.Y, comprised of childhood best friends Sez and Elle. T. Y’s name originated from Sez and Elle’s texts to each other, signing off with T.Y (Thank You), it soon became the duo’s stage name.  T.Y is all about writing about life experiences such as heartbreak, self-doubt and finding oneself and acceptance, using synth pop dance elements to not only get you dancing and singing but also finding familiarity and comfort in the lyrics, while you do so.  

Notably, T.Y write, create, mix and master all their own music, they are completely independent. If you’re interested in how their songs come to life, check out the T.Y Instagram page for Elle’s run-through of their musical processes.  I highly recommend you listen to ‘Inside Out’, if you want to be teleported back into the 2000’s pop era, despite being released in 2024. The groovy bass line, paired with RnB elements sounds straight out of the Y2K era, ‘Inside Out’ will surely get you grooving and dancing along!  

T.Y stand for those finding a place in the world, combining dance tracks and lyrics that have an impactful meaning. Sez and Elle the future is looking bright, and we can’t wait to see what is next in store for T.Y!
