You’re Invited to WHOSE PARTY!
By Kim Gray
Meanjin/ Brisbane based band, Whose Party, is fronted by the bands founder Ivy Fisher-Eishaug on vocals and rhythm guitar, alongside Jackson Manning on lead guitar, Arni Mac on bass and backing vocals, and Keenan Brookes on drums. Best described as an alternative-rock band, Whose Party’s sound is diverse and can go into gothic/post-punk territory as quickly as they can deep dive into surfer rock. This dynamic sound and genre fluidity is what makes Whose Party so unique.
Whose Party have released their newest single ‘Scratches in the glass.’ A haunting purgatory of everyday life and your own mind, the song was born from Ivy’s experience riding trains and waiting to commute under the fluorescent lights at the stations at dawn and late at night. The eeriness translates into the song wonderfully.
Ivy was incredibly generous to allow TuneFM to announce Whose Party’s newest single ‘Roller Derby’, an 80’s and 90’s indie rock inspired song. ‘Roller Derby’ will be hitting the airwaves on October 16th, with Whose Party hosting a launch party on October 22nd. Check out Whose Party’s Instagram for more details.
If you love bands such as The Cranberries, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Paramore, Bikini Kill and PJ Harvey, you are in for an absolute treat! We are so excited to see what is next in store for Whose Party, this is only the beginning.
